2MR welcome Atlanta’s BLACK FORCES. He may be a new name to you, but you already know his message and just how important it is. Now and always.

Things can’t remain as they are. Racism on every institutional, social and domestic level needs to be demolished. We need a brighter world where the street isn’t the only option for millions of marginalised black youths across the U.S. We need a brighter, fair future to march towards. And these are the beats we’re marching to.

Raw, powerful club beats. No over-fussing or finessing; just real machine soul grit and words of honesty and emotion from a young, impassioned black artist who will never stop fighting until we achieve that progression we all know is needed.

Don’t take our word. Take his own. BLACK FORCES is just as much a vocal project as it is about his productions. Taking to the mic for the first time in his career, over the course of four tracks he shares the thoughts, frustrations, anger, sadness and love from his deepest psyche. It kicks off with ‘Obituary’. Written in the wake of the tragic murder of George Floyd, he’s not doing this shit for fun.

More hard truths are delivered like shots: ‘I DON'T FUCK WITH COPS’ spells things out clearly. AKA the biggest gang in the city. Deeper again into BLACK FORCES’ mindset and experiences we hit ‘THE OMEN’ where the situation is spelt out even clearer over another savage beat. Watch out for vultures, watch out for the culture, understand systematic controls in place to maintain this evil status quo.

Finally we’re taken for a night out in EDGEWOOD, ATL. A place where money and privilege rush past the homeless pretending not to see them. The gap is getting bigger yet the silence gets louder even though 99% of us are just a payday away from the streets ourselves. Educate, don’t hate; we all need to fight for a better solution right now. BLACK FORCES is setting the example.
